Castle & Cathedral Weddings

Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas are fortunate to have an array of castles such as Sudeley, Berkeley, Thornbury and Clearwell as well as many others just a short drive away. We also have historic cathedrals such as Gloucester, Worcester, Hereford and Bristol within commuting distance so we are spoiled for choice!

Alex and Pad's late winter wedding at Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean wasn't dampened by the downpours that plagued the whole day. We made the most of the gorgeous interiors for the group photos they wanted and their portraits and braved outside with plenty of brollies for the confetti shot. We had decided to not venture into the garden because of the mud but leave that until the evening when the cake cutting and first dance had passed before we got creative with umbrella's and archways.

Sudeley Castle Wedding. Church and Castle Wedding Photography
One of the most Romantic venues around is Sudeley Castle (located not far from Cheltenham in Gloucestershire) so I was super, super excited for Kelly and Danny's big day! They exchanged vows in the magnificent church and afterwards took refreshments in the Queen's garden, which was filled with flowers and had an array of scents from the different roses whilst a string quartet played. There are so many beautiful spots to take photos at Sudeley, it's very much a wedding photographers dream!

Aside from Photography, my other love is history so a castle or cathedral is among my many favourite types of venue. I worked part-time in Gloucester Cathedral so am familiar with the differing types of architecture and lighting. Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas are fortunate to have an array of castles such as Sudeley, Berkeley, Thornbury and Clearwell as well as many others just a short drive away.
