Lansing, Michigan Travel Guide
Lansing is Michigan’s state capitol and home of the Spartans and Michigan State University. Lansing is known best for MSU football, state government happenings, and farming and agriculture. But Greater Lansing is also home to several breweries and wineries, farm-to-table dining, and Wharton Center for the Performing Arts. Check out the full post for my Lansing Travel Guide, with tips on where to stay and what to see and do in Michigan’s capitol city.

Afternoon Tea at the Townsend
Tea at the Townsend would definitely wow for Mother’s Day, birthdays, showers, and other celebrations. The table is set with china, silver, fresh flowers, and the most colorful array of food. Enjoy raspberry tea, sparkling mimosas, and delicate tea sandwiches. Colorful berries and fruits, spring green salads, and fresh-baked scones. And the loveliest assortment of crisp macarons, raspberry mousse kisses, and tiny frosted cakes. Tea at the Townsend is frilly, fancy, and a very special treat!

Where to See the Cherry Blossoms in Michigan in April
The cherry blossoms are in bloom at @meijergardens in @experiencegrandrapids!🌸This is the first time we’ve driven out to see their cherry blossom bloom, and there were two areas to see them: the Cherry Tree Promenade in the Japanese Garden and this line of trees in the perennial garden. Between the cherry blossom bloom AND the butterfly bloom in the conservatory today, the gardens were PACKED! We went in early afternoon in full sun, and it was very tricky to get photos between the harsh lighting and the crowds. But the blooms were beautiful, and the sky was a gorgeous blue, so it’s a trade-off. We actually preferred these trees in the perennial garden to those along the promenade because we had them entirely to ourselves.🤫If you want to make it out to see the cherry blossom bloom at M

Brys Estate Secret Garden
Michigan's Old Mission Peninsula is home to rolling vineyards and winery tasting rooms. One of the peninsula’s most popular is Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, best known for their signature frose and sunny deck overlooking the vines. After enjoying a tasting flight at the winery, drive back to the gardens where you’ll be greeted with rows of lavender, strawberries, and u-pick flowers. Open Memorial Day through mid October, Brys Secret Garden is a must-visit on your next trip to Traverse City!

Decorating Our Deck with English Gardens
English Gardens is a Michigan company that started in 1954, and it’s helped generations of Metro Detroiters hone their green thumbs over the years. They carry everything from patio furniture and decor; to lawn and garden supplies; to flowers, trees, and plants. To update our back deck for summer, Kyle and I went shopping at English Gardens. I’m thrilled with how everything came together and how just a few key items totally transformed our space.
