Vulcanized fiber is a heat compressed 100% plant cellulose paper that is tough, dense, rigid, and does not contain any externally applied glues or sealants. It is durable and maintains its color very well over time, despite exposure to the elements. It is often used by knife makers as a way to visually accent their handles and increase the value of the product. We sell our vulcanized paper in several different colors: Brick Red, Black, Yellow Rose, Mallard Green, White, Candy Apple Red, Grey, and Blue. We also now offer a thin black vulcanized paper that is .016" in thickness! Each measures 5" x 10" x 0.030" When making your knife, it is recommended that you glue your spacer to your handle before you do any other work on it.
