Require very little inputs unlike chickens and pigs (and even dairy goats) 4. Easy to manage with very little infrastructure and handling equipment 5. Quick turnaround time from breeding to butchering compared to raising cattle 6. They can thrive on poor pasture 7. With good management practices & good genetics you have minimal parasite pressure 8. They are tough and resilient and can handle cold weather 9. Much more family friendly and wont trample children (although be careful with rams near kids) I could go on.
