Tatanka-Iyotanka, "Sitting Bull" (1831-1890). Sioux Indian chief. Joined his first war party against the crow at age 14. In June 1876, he was engaged in battle against General George Armstrong Custer in the now famous Battle at Little Bighorn. Where he led thousands of Sioux and Cheyenne warriors against Custer's undermanned force, wiping out the 200-plus men. He was killed by Indian agency police on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in 1890.
