The Saatchi Gallery is one of the most interesting venues in London for contemporary art lovers. The current exhibition is entitled Out of Focus: Photography, and it will last until the 22nd of July 2012. It is a survey of 40 artists, depicted with a massive array of techniques and different styles and methods. Interesting fact, a lot of the photographers are women. And it seems that they have a lot of absorbing stories to tell, from a particular perspective.

Over the course of a year, I quietly observed the continuous changing of the seasons and the varied human interaction in a natural environment.I wanted to reflect on the desire we have to reconnect with the natural world after centuries of pursuing the ideology of ‘dominion over nature’—a term coined by Francis Bacon in the 16th century. Our movements are tentative and uncertain, yet slowly we are beginning to embrace the unity with nature that we need to survive.

Photography has many tips and tricks of the trade used both by amateurs and famous photographers - the many uses of light, perspective, darkness, exposure, and many other bits are what makes beautiful pictures. All of that wouldn't come to one unified look without shadows though as they are what gives the image depth or in some cases, changes the view entirely. Also, they're free, they're everywhere, and there's no limit to what you can do with them if you have the know-how.
