An incredible and rarely seen photo of the moment of firing one of the German "railway Guns". This is probably the gun called Schwerer Gustav( Great Gustav) which was the largest calibre rifled gun ever built, at 80cm or 31". This monster was one of two built by the German munitions firm of Krupps, and the statistics of them stagger the imagination.
