I’ve been eager to explore some new ideas, and I’m excited to finally present this project. While a speckled orange finish might have been all the rage in the 1970s, it feels quite outdated by today’s standards. This piece had so much potential with its original design elements, but it needed a few updates to align with contemporary tastes. (A D) Here’s how I did it! + removed all the brass hardware & accents + scraped off all the old varnish with my carbide scraper + sanded off the remaining finish with 120 grit, working my way up to 220 + applied @realmilkpaintco wood wax into the inside of the chest to moisturize & renew the wood!
