Ophelia drawing

First piece of my series '𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘦.' Ophelia is a character I've always been fascinated by. So many pieces depicting her are usually full of color and thought it would be interesting to capture her demise in grey scale. Drowning the color out helps bring a new perspective to her despair.

Sir John Gilbert was born at Blackheath on 21 July 1811, the son of Felix Gilbert, land and estate agent, of Blackheath Lane. Gilbert was employed as a clerk in the office of Dickson and Bell, estate agents, from 1833 to 1835.
