Giant sash windows cover the back of Panovscott's house extension

Large plots are not essential for lavish homes, but thoughtful space planning can break the limitations of small plots making it breathable, inviting adequate natural light and ventilation. Cradled in the posh residential area of Ahmedabad, Paldi, this Narrow House is a unique example of balancing the yin and the yang of architecture as well as interiors incorporating nature within the build forms.

This project is a single-family house on a site, where a part of a tenement house was separated and demolished. Therefore, the site is long and thin with a width of 7.5m and depth of 30m which is like ‘a bed for an eel’.
