This project is a single-family house on a site, where a part of a tenement house was separated and demolished. Therefore, the site is long and thin with a width of 7.5m and depth of 30m which is like ‘a bed for an eel’.

Narrow lot home This home is only 15 ft. wide so keeping the floor plan open and the design as as light and bright as possible was very important. We kept the exterior style of the home similar to the other homes on this block but we added the board and batten siding, white exterior paint, and black windows to give it an updated and on trend look. Minaka was built on a typical urban lot in Vietnam which is narrow and small and one open side. This house is a living space of a 6 members family. With great demand for use, the vertical expansion of usable space is inevitable. The important issue to solve is getting light for a tall and narrow “tube”. Besides, Interaction with urban spaces is also something we care about.
