I designed Fyaska as the 1st-place prize in the Dragons category for Dragon-Building Contest 2, but then I grew too fond of the build and decided to keep her for myself! Combination of two jungle dragon sets (nr. 71746) I bought two of these mostly because of the color 'Teal', which I had none of. While building the set, I really felt like I could make an upgrade if I combine the two, so I did it. Only with a small number of my own parts (ball joint connectors and mixeljoint connecters) I only used the parts of the actual sets, which was a fun challenge for myself. I got rid of the wings, mainly because I didn't like them on the set and a wingless jungle…

Inspired by the dragons from the video game Skyrim. This was the prototype for making Smaug. At the time, I didn't have enough red Lego to make Smaug, so I made a dragon in white.

Loosely based on Chinese guardian lions or 'foo dogs' as some call them. This MOC was a fun exercise in using Lego cloth elements as a flexible skin around an inner frame. The result is a very cohesive look with some fun patterns that would be very hard to achieve otherwise. The MOC has several points of articulation that allow it to take a natural sitting pose. I'm quite pleased with how uniform the colors are on this build. The dark orange jumper plates up top are meant to evince orange spine striping, which was present in the concept art dragon on which this MOC version was based. Facebook Instagram
