Samia Halaby’s vibrant and energetic ‘kinetic paintings’ were made on a program titled the Kinetic Painting Program, which she created on a PC between 1990-1996. Halaby taught herself Basic and C programming languages to create programs that showcased the process of computerised painting, and collaborated with musicians to stage kinetic art performances.
