When I started picturing Hades's modern era design, I wanted something distinct and related to the film's visual style but refreshing and original at the same time. And of course, him being a chthonic deity, the mafia concept was most suitable for him. Hades is a beautifully Scarfe style based character that combines humorous and scary traits ideally, making him a superb caricature villain.
