We live in the Hill Country of Central Texas, rural setting. Last week this fawn caught my attention with its persistent cries, heard all the way inside our office. I followed the sounds west to the barbed wire that borders our land. There I found this little one entangled in the wire unable to free itself, with the mother nearby. So I cut it loose. It seemed OK, just badly shaken with only minor cuts.
