This week we were using acrylic paint on fabric to create different effects. We started by stippling some calico with a dry brush using 2 colours - blue and yellow in my case, resulting in lots of green and looking like a flowery meadow! I have been going mad with shibori at the moment, experimenting with using different sized marbles, folding, securing with elastic bands and all kinds of things! Wrapping fabric on PVC pipe to paint and dye can lead to some beautiful marks. I’m testing out some narrow PVC pipes for an upcoming project – trying to get an idea of how much fabric I can wrap in one layer and still work with standard size pipes available at reasonable prices! This is my experiment with earthy colors – I’ll try my sea and sky colors next.
