Calypso island

One panel, comprised of two widths of scenic wallpaper. The panels depict Calypso standing on a rocky outcrop, next to a Caryatid pouring water from vases into a pond. Three swans swim in the pond. Set within a lush landscape. The scenic panel is framed with a passementerie or fancy gimp border.

So i decided to join Artstation Odyssey jam and it was quite fun! I read the Odyssey for the first time and sank deep into Greece Dark Ages research because things back then could look very different from what i usually imagine when thinking about Ancient Greece. This is my take on entrance to Grot of Calypso on the island of Ogygia where Odysseous spent 7 years.

A minor goddess in Greek mythology, Calypso is one of the Oceanids, a sea nymph popular for her role in Homer's Odyssey, and had amazing healing powers. Read on to know more about her.
