My favorite surviving 18th century stays can be found in the Victoria & Albert museums collections. As my previous stays were starting to show signs of wear, I thought it was a good time to make my version of them. This is the method we have used in the princess bodice pattern 02 🧡  Did you know that there are bones that can be sewn directly into the fabric, they are called rigilene. They don't have the hardness that plastic or metal bones would have but they are a very good option to create a comfortable structure in your bodice.  📌 Press the seam allowance to the side. 📌 Cut the boning to the desired length. 📌 Sew them over the seam allowance with the zigzag stitch.  📌 So that the seam allowance doesn't turn the wrong way, you can hold it in a couple of stitches using the bodice interfacing.  You can use any technique you like to sew your corsets.
