So, I headed to IKEA and I got three of these Ivar premade shelf sides and about to show you. So, these actually are sides to shelves from Ikea but I'm going to use them for another way. So, I brought them home and I grabbed a stain. I'm using the color golden ash and I use this stain probably all the time. It gives that sort of vintage cozy feel to the wood and you'll see what I mean once I show you the before and after. So you can see how light the original is and what the stain looks like after I'm finished with it and when I was done, I brought them inside and I just admired the beautiful wood grain shining through. So, next, I got some burlap fabric and I opened it up and I measured to size and I ironed it to make sure there was no wrinkles or grooves in it. Then, I got an upholstery stapler or you know, any kind of, I guess, woodworking your DIY stapler will do and I stapled the burlap fabric to the back of the panel and I cut off all the excess. When I was done, the back of my panels looked stapled on like this. Then, I went to the store and I got some hinges. I'm using six of these heavy-duty hinges and I used them to hinge together and connect all of these panels and this would allow me to open and close them whenever I need it. I put one hinge at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom to evenly distribute it out. Then I grabbed some wood dowels. These are six millimeter thick dowels. I cut them to size and I stained them with the exact same stain. Then I brought this upstairs to my dressing room and now I have the coolest and really easy DIY room divider. It's the perfect place to hang scarves and purses but the best part is these wood dowels slide into the holes and it's adjustable to hang all your necklaces and jewelry. What do you guys think? This cost me under 50 pounds and I love it.
