It’s so simple, yet SO effective. 🤯 If I give an instruction that I know I won’t or can’t follow through with, I’m basically teaching my kids that I don’t really mean it when I tell them to do something. Which means I will have to give the same instructions over and over, and they won’t listen to me. 😩 I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the time for that! Or the patience, like, let’s be real 😅 so I think before I speak! 🙂 #parenting #parentingtips #parenthood #parentproblems #gentleparenting #gentleparent #consciousparenting #momlife #momlifebelike #momtruth #momtips #momtipsandtricks #momtomom #motherhood #momlifeunfiltered #momlife101 #toddlerlearning #parentingwin | Olivia J Owen | livjowen · Original audio

60K views · 5.9K reactions | 5 Sensory Activities to improve kids’ behavior👇 When sensory seeking children exhibit these behaviors it’s typically a sign they are dysregulated and need support in meeting their sensory needs to help regulate their emotions. Here are a few examples! Clingy (climbing all over you, wants to be held, no sense of personal space) 👉 Offer exercises that provide physical connection and deep pressure input, such as leg squishes or compression hugs. Hyperactive (bouncing off the walls, won’t sit still) 👉 Build obstacle courses including jumping, climbing, running, and crashing. Loud (speaking fast at a high volume, uncontrollably) 👉 Provide materials with interesting tactile input like play dough, slime, or stress balls. This can help kids calm down and play quietly. Overstimulated (stressed or anxious) 👉 Create a cozy space that provides a sense of security and calmness, like a tent or canopy. Aggressive (angry, irritable, hitting or pinching) 👉 Do breathing exercises with tools that provide visual feedback, like a breathing ball or Calmee. 🐛 Please note, every child has their own sensory preferences and interest levels in various activities! Follow @thecalmcaterpillar for more tips 💚 Hope this helps 🫶🫶 | The Calm Caterpillar | lauraelizabethgraham · Original audio
